[La] Esperanza is the portrait of Esperanza Ornedo, president of SOS Bebés robados Huelva who has spent 15 years working selflessly for the rights and dignity of 200 families searching for their allegedly stolen babies.

In 2018, Esperanza managed to expose this scandal of stolen babies in the province of Huelva in the European Parliament, and in 2025, she finally managed to get the first exhumations of various mass graves carried out in the Huelva cemetery.

The stolen babies scandal is one of the most silenced crimes of the dictatorship period and affects thousands of families throughout Spain still today. Esperanza is an example of perseverance and tireless struggle for justice in our country.
